Bermondsey Gin is made to a very traditional juniper forward style. It is a true London distilled dry gin made to a recipe from the 1800s so does not include cucumber, rose, grains of paradise or any of the other 'contemporary' gin botanicals. Initially made by Thames Distillers over the years...

we found some batches of Jensen's Gin disappointing, not living up to the first spectacular 2005 bottling. However, in February 2015 production moved to the gin's own dedicated distillery in London's Bermondsey with a new label design introduced at the same time.

Appearance:

Crystal clear.

Aroma:

Clean pine-ey juniper with parma violet, generous coriander, orange and lemon zest.

Taste:

Clean and dry with piney juniper to the fore, coriander and strong hints of parma violet (from the orris?). Enlivening/agressive black pepper spice and faint nutty almond.

Aftertaste:

Long pine-ey black pepper spiced finish.
