Named after the imposing mountain, Sliabh Liag is the sister to the nearby An Dúlamán Gin Distillery to the west. Sliabh Liag is a dedicated whiskey distillery (constructed 2019-20) and its first cask of double-distilled smoky spirit made from Irish peated malt was filled into a first fill bourbon cask in August 2020, the first legal whiskey to be produced in Donegal since the closure of Burt Distillery in 1841.
