Established in 1874 as a ‘Research and Training Institute for Alcohol Manufacturing’ under by the decree of German Emperor William I, this distillery produced products under the brand name ‘Eagle Spirits’, reaching its peak of production in 1900 before two world wars brought about its demise. Production resumed in the 1950s but struggled without state support. The distillery was taken over in 2009 and the Eagle brand resurrected. Today, the Prussian Liquor Factory is a working distillery museum.
