Review

The fourth outpost of the Crazy Bear chain is tucked away on a dingy street corner off Seven Dials. Unlike the grand entrance of their other London site, there's no flames, no rope and no door staff here - the club is strictly members' only.

The tiny black and gold reception leads into the main cocktail lounge. Lashings of silver, gold black, velvet and leather provide the opulent backdrop of the room, which is furnished with diamond-studded chesterfields and small tables for two.nThe one station bar is pretty well stocked and like their Fitrovia site the cocktail menu is lavish.

Downstairs is a dining room with private leather-clad booths and snakeskin covered tables. Through a little arch is a second smaller bar - again bejewelled with as much sparkle as they can muster - Elton John would like it here. Food is currently Thai or Sushi, though they are about to bring in a British menu using products from their own farm shop in Oxfordshire. With two excellent hotels and now two bars in London this is probably quite a fun place to be a member.
