Despite its name, The Rummer is not actually a hotel. The title comes from its once being a public house, and the outside of the building, in a small alley way, looks as if it could still be one.
Inside, everything looks more modern, and the large open plan venue has plenty of comfortable seating scattered throughout as well as room to sit at the bar. They boast a vast spirits section which makes for a beautiful back-bar, and an impressive array of rums.
Cocktails are very well-made and balanced, plus the bar is more than capable of creating classics. A gem of the venue is the small, intimate distillery downstairs in the medieval cellars where you can book in for gin and rum tastings.
