An unpromising spot overlooking the M8, as it cuts through Glasgow city centre, is the unlikely position for this cracking little pub.
Luxurious padded leather burgundy booths run up the centre of the room, and the look is continued on the bar itself with a padded leather front and an impressive spirits selection on the mirrored glass shelves behind. A mezzanine level has been squeezed in above the toilets so guests in the booths, which look down over the bar counter, can almost touch the ornate ceiling and its cornices. The space has been used to the full but it feels plush and homely rather than cramped.
The drinks selection here is a step above that of your run-of-the-mill boozer with shelves laden with high-end spirits and a beer selection includes the likes of Negro Modello. For those after a bite, skewers, burgers, pasta, risotto and pizzas are served until 9pm daily.
