A hipster cocktail bar with a slushy iced cocktail machine and purls (bitters and beer) serving traditional southern Cajun/creole inspired food. The dimply lit atmosphere pulsates with upbeat rock, dance and electronic music driven by the DJ sat over the door and at a volume that can make conversation a challenge.
Analogue is noted for its cocktails, including the Sohn'Ic Reducer (bourbon, cherry demerara, walnut liqueur and Angostura bitters), Tokyo Storm Warning (Zacapa 23, Mt. Gay rum, lime, Cherry Heering, pineapple, cinnamon and egg yolk and) Down by Law (blanco tequila, Pimm's, lemon, almond grenadine and Bandolero bitters). The selection of eight draught beers is led by Budweiser but thankfully concludes with Rodenbach Grand Cru Flanders red ale and is bolstered by a further 11 bottled and canned brews. But perhaps the most interesting beers served here are the Purls - beers which have been bittered. Combinations include the No.3 grapefruit, cinchona and cinnamon, and the No. 5 pumpkin, blade mace and ginger. Inspired by the Purls originally served in 18th century London, be warned, at first sip these can be very bitter.
Analogue's kitchen is open until 11pm nightly and 11-3pm for Sunday brunch. It has something of a reputation for its biscuits but you might be drawn by the po'boys, jambalaya or gumbo.
