Review

This large, two-tiered restaurant is upscale yet relaxed and back in the mid-1990s it's conservatory bar was the best place to go for cocktails and craft beer in Nashville. It's lost a little of what made it special but remains worthy of recommendation.

The conservatory bar sits next to the restaurant and as the name suggests, resembles a conservatory in construction with its windows thrown open to the outdoor seating much of the year. Originally a tree with a wide girthed trunk punched its way through the roof with its branches shadowing the bar below. Sadly it's long gone, as has the 16 strong Martini list and accompanying ice shelf that ran around the bar counter.

The bar counter follows the contours of a central hexagonal-shaped chiller displaying a good range of bottled beers from around the world (though not the over 100 of the bars heyday). The section is bolstered by a good draught line-up, a serious wine list and a short cocktail list.

The eclectic food menu encompasses the best of world fare with steaks, pizza from a wood fired oven, pasta, sashimi, tempura and Creole cuisine.

The Bound'ry remains relaxed, civilised (certainly compared to the joints downtown) and worth considering for lunch or dinner.
