Lucy's Flower Shop is a basement bar hidden behind an empty florist shop, but once inside expect to find an interior reminiscent of the 60's that is both colourful and elegant with cocktails that are simple but innovative.

A non-descript doorway leads to an unattended florist shop and then, when you find the door, this hidden basement "cocktail bunker" of a bar.

Lucy's is tiny (just 38 seats) so be sure to make a reservation (email flowers@lucysstockholm.se) and have the confidence to open closed doors as your perseverance will be well rewarded when you step inside this enclave of cocktail perfection.

This sure to be multi-award-winning bar opened in November 2019 and is the concept of two of Sweden's most regarded bartenders, Ola Carlson and Alex Skärlén, and this wealth of talent is extended with Hampus Thunholm as head bartender.

The simplicity of the embossed white card cocktail menu understates the brilliance of its nine signature cocktails. The attention to detail in this minimalist menu extends to asterisks alongside drink names. One asterisk denotes an "alcohol-free version is available" while two asterisks sensibly inform that a cocktail "contains lactose". As a drinker who can sadly no longer process lactose and is constantly caught out by milk clarification, I applaud this warning.

A high-end centrifuge, creative minds and the benefit of much experience have led to a brilliant drinks menu with cocktails such as the Sichuan & Peach IPA brilliantly harnessing and marrying the huge flavours of baijiu, habanero and Sichuan pepper with peach liqueur acting as a smoothing harmoniser.
