As the name might suggest, Slims follows an American theme and apart from the accents of those about you this could easily be mistaken for the interior of an A-typical LA dive bar. The name also references the fact that the bar also acts as an off-licence with rare bourbons available to buy.
The walls of the dimly lit room are variously exposed brickwork and poster wallpaper with a mix of red vinyl booth seating and 1950-style bar stools. A red glow is emitted from the underlit back bar which is echoed by the flickering red nightlights on the tables. In keeping with the dive bar theme, a duke box seems to follow a rock and roll dominated play list while the drinkers also seem to correspond to the dive bar stereotype.
This is more a draught lager than cocktail kinda joint but a chalk board does list a selection of classics (Mojito, Margarita, Cosmo and of course the Daiquiri) alongside 'Slim Specials' such as the Rose Martini.
If you can't stand Vegas neon or the Stones then this rock 'n roll bar won't be for you.
