Review

Descending down to the Goodge Street London Cocktail club is akin to entering a gothic, slightly decaying, Sherlock Holmes novel. The décor is worn plush, velvet chairs and long couches feature in the back area whilst vintage jewellery, graffiti and old world lamps clutter the place. A shelf running high along the wall opposite the bar features antiques and dust splattered books and the light bulbs hang from the ceiling unadorned.

The menu is assortment of humdrum classics and intriguing mixtures some of which sound delightful and others which beggar belief at their existence but end tasting divine if unusual including a spiced oyster twist on the jaeger bomb. Their prices range from £5 -£9.

Atmospherically this venue is quite playful, all the bartenders are chatty and the customers, whilst often there after work, appear quite up for the night to begin. This playful element comes out the toilets doors, a large knob for the gents and two knockers for the ladies which is quite funny at first but disorientating after a cocktail or two.
