This quirky Cuban-themed is easy to walk right by without noticing. But inside it's a world of humidors, cigars, rum and revolutionary art and a cigar sampling room that means you can still smoke indoors.
It's something of a big boy's den inside, with black couches and dark wood all lit by candles whilst shakers, extravagant glassware and cigar paraphernalia are arranged in glass cases on the walls. This, alongside the table service make Casa Del Habano seem more contemporary styled, more Soho than Havana.
Presented in old cigar boxes, the menu opens up somewhat incongruously on gin, followed by Bond movie drinks, then more familiar classic all of which come with a historical reference. But as the pages go by, the spirits get progressively darker, eventually finding its way to rum. Orders are taken at the table and arrive delicately balanced and unpretentious.
The smoking room, a wood and leather-clad space, is off to one side, with a walk-in humidor and all-Cuban list of cigars. Sampling laws means you can smoke indoors but drinks can't be brought in from the bar.
