Review

Le 47 is a plush hotel bar - part of an equally plush and polished boutique hotel, full of shiny marble and with a sweeping staircase in the lobby, suitably posh for being within a stone's throw of the Arc de Triomph. You can reach the bar from the street - you enter from a door on the corner and enter from directly behind the back-bar into a lounge-style room. Fabric-covered armchairs create little seating areas, with a moulded ceiling and chandeliers overhead providing some refined glamour. The bar-front is back-lit with the hotel's signature geometric design.

The spirits selection is relatively small, though the best are reserved for a glass display case that's opposite the wall. The menu presents a short array of modern cocktails and twisted classics, with some drinks served with fancy ice balls, and the menu imploring you to ask the staff for whatever you want beyond it. Bar manager Ugo Frazetti is more than capable of creating something to your specification. The bar can be quiet on weeknights, though at least you get the bartender's full attention.
