Review and Tasting

Sampled on 24/11/2012

Appearance:

Clear deep golden with burnished gold highlights.

Aroma:

Strongly oaked nose (hot sawn wood and pencil shavings) with faint smoky Lapsang Souchong tea, vanilla and thyme.

Taste:

Astringent oaky bitterness and smoky tea tannins partially balanced by sweet vanilla with barky notes and aggressive cracked black pepper attacking spice.

Aftertaste:

Strangely pleasing vanilla and spice with lingering bitter smokiness.
