Dear Discerning Drinker

As in previous years, I used the first week of the New Year as an opportunity to crunch our data to find last year's 100 most popular cocktails – the cocktails that received the most page views on Difford's Guide during 2023.

There are no great surprises in the Top 20, and, as in previous years, the interesting changes lie at the bottom of the table (81 to 100), where the new entries replace those relegated.

The standout cocktail for 2023 was the Piscola, simply a pisco and cola with a dash of bitters, which stormed into our Top 100 at 37th place. This is a huge drink in Chile, but the audience that propelled this cocktail up our charts is mainly in the USA.

This year I've added dedicated pages featuring those cocktails that dropped out and the new entries as these best point towards changes in cocktail fashions.

Happy New Year!

Cheers
Simon Difford
