The Pinnacle Guide have announced their first list of Pinned bars. These bars have been meticulously evaluated to determine whether they are worthy of a PIN based on their standard of drinks and service as well as their philanthropy, sustainability, and diversity.
The goal of the Pinnacle Guide is to elevate bars and inspire progression in the industry by rewarding bars that are not only delivering excellent drinks and service but are showing initiative and taking responsible action regarding sustainability, diversity and inclusivity.
Applications opened in November 2023 across seven markets including the U.K., U.S., Australia, Dubai, Mexico, Singapore and Spain.
Through applying, each bar goes through a lengthy process of evaluation by first being asked to fill out details in six assessment modules. Bars that pass this first stage are then subject to an in-person anonymous review.
To receive a PIN bars must show 'excellent, 'outstanding' or 'exceptional' work across both sides of the bar. Criteria includes a focus on sustainability and a minimum of two non-alcoholic cocktails on offer. Over half of the shortlisted bars are owned, co-owned or led by women, or people from ethnic minorities within their own market.
Even the bars that don't receive a PIN are given constructive feedback and invited to action it and reapply.
There are currently no 3 PIN bars.
