Alquímico School of Hospitality

Alquímico created its hospitality school to provide training and employment opportunities to young people who face barriers to accessing education and employment.

The students who attend the school are mainly young people, aged 17 to 19, from vulnerable communities in Cartagena who don't have access to formal education and are looking to develop the skills to build a career and access opportunities in hospitality.

The school combines theory and practical training, with students given the opportunity to experience different areas of Alquímico's operation and learn not only technical knowledge but also human skills, values, discipline, teamwork, service, and a sense of belonging.

The teachers are primarily leaders from Alquímico's production, bar, and service teams, who share with the students the knowledge and experience they have gained directly through the operation. Additionally, each student receives personalised support from tutors from the bar team who follow their learning, adaptation, and development.
