Review

Stunning views and a good-time vibe in this garden bar perched surreally atop a multi-storey car park.

One of the great benefits of a city as hilly as Lisbon is the views – and Park is probably the city’s most interesting rooftop bar from which to enjoy them. In the bizarre surroundings of the fifth floor of a multi-storey car park on the fringes of Bairro Alto rests a vibrant garden, complete with trees and flowers, and a surreal timber chalet structure that wouldn’t feel out of place on the ski slopes.

Besides sweeping views across to the 25 April Bridge, which soars for over two kilometres across the Tagus, there’s a feel-good vibe which is perfect for a summer night. DJs are on point, generally with house and hip-hop, while there’s an art school edge to the clientele. Efficient staff churn out serviceable cocktails plus a good range of spirits and mixers at an impressive rate; trucker caff food includes burgers and egg and chips.
