Nuvo

Nuvo is a cocktail lounge and piano bar that, like Bank, is also in the Brindleyplace development. Contemporary in style, with a chrome Buddha in the entrance summing up both the ethos and the style, Nuvo boasts twinkly lights set into the ceiling, comfy chairs and live piano playing and singing - even mid-week - making sense of the 'Eat, drink, listen' slogan. Sink into a comfy chair or sit at the black stone bar and you'll find the venue immediately cosseting and atmospheric.

Service was super friendly, with clearly exacting high standards. The menu lists two pages of classics, plus signature cocktails, some of which are sweet and creamy, but others offering cunning twists, the Blackberry Crusta, for example. Regulars get lockers in which to keep bottles of spirits. A great new addition to the Birmingham scene. 4/5
