To quote the back label, Ron Zacapa 15, "is derived from a blend of aged rums between 5 and 15 years old, originating from the 'Sistema Solera' aging process". It is matured at an altitude of 2300 meters in selected casks previously used to aged bourbons, sherry and Pedro Ximenez.

Appearance:

Clear, tawny brown amber. Nutty, tobacco nose with aromatic peachy fruit.

Aroma:

Aromas of hazelnut, coffee and leather.

Taste:

Nutty, coffee and tobacco palate which while slightly sweet has underlying bitterness. Becomes slightly aggressive when held on the palate with sour fruit flavours emerging. (Very dry when compared to the better known 'Zacapa 23'.)

Aftertaste:

Medium finish with lingering espresso and nut with tonka bean flavours.
