A single barrel Kentucky straight bourbon aged for ten years in charred oak barrels. The whiskey from each barrel is bottled individually rather than being blended so flavour profiles vary slightly. The original 50.5% alc./vol. blended ten year-old bottling was discontinued in March 2005.
Eagle Rare was launched in the 1975 and originally made at what is now the Four Roses Distillery, then named the Old Prentice Distillery. The distillery was owned by Seagrams who changed the name to Four Roses and in 1989 sold the Old Prentice name along with the Eagle Rare brand to the Sazerac Company, owners of the Buffalo Trace Distillery.
