This Demerara rum takes its 'PM' moniker from the mark once used to identify rums from the distillery attached to the Port Mourant Sugar Factor, founded in 1732 and one of the oldest estates in the world. The original double wooden pot still from Port Mourant is used to make this exceptional rum.

Review and Tasting

Sampled on 06/12/2010

Appearance:

(Due to being a single barrel bottling these notes may not be representative of other bottles.)

Aroma:

Fresh green pepper mixed with linseed oil is immediately apparent, reminiscent of that often found in Speyside malts.

Taste:

So refined and complex as not to be like rum at all. Soft Christmas cake, rancio flavours wash over the tongue.

Aftertaste:

Pepper spice adds bite to the long finish.
