Launched in the USA in the summer of summer 2011 and billed as being “the world’s first botanically brewed cherry cola”, Fentimans Cherrytree Cola is a fermented, botanical cherry-flavoured cola soft drink flavoured with ginger root and herbal extracts.

“Ingredients: carbonated water, fermented ginger root extract (water, ginger root, yeast), sugar, flavourings, colouring (caramel e150d), phosphoric acid, caffeine.”

Appearance:

(sample best before 28/May/15) Clear, deep teak brown (virtually black and opaque in the glass) with plentiful large bubbles.

Aroma:

Fresh cherries, cherry flavoured bubble gum, stewed fruit, crystallised orange, ginger, herbal spice and Cola Cube sweets.

Taste:

Initial fresh ripe cherry fades as cola flavours emerge and dominate.

Aftertaste:

Confectionery-like maraschino cherry, amaretto and mocha coffee. Ending with lingering barky cola.
