Brewed in West Flanders in the small village of Watou, in the heart of the Le Plat Pays hop area, the home of St. Sixtus Trappist Monastery. Shortly after the WWII, the monks decided to stop commercial brewing and production transferred to nearby Brouwerij St. Bernard where this beer is made.

Appearance:

(bbd 29.09.14) Cloudy, coppery orange amber with large head which quickly subsides leaving spotted lacing.

Aroma:

Malty banana, pear, dried apricot and grated clove.

Taste:

Black pepper, clove and spicy alcohol with herbs, yeast and tropical fruit.

Aftertaste:

Mildly bitter, lingering black pepper and clove spiced finish.
