Brewed with Pale Ale, Crystal and Brown malts, Tally Ho is a limited edition barley wine style beer, brewed at Adnams since 1880. Produced each October in limited quantities, this is a traditional Christmas beer. Each year’s vintage is unique and bottles may be laid down like a fine wine.

Appearance:

(sample 2014 edition, best before 31/Aug/16) Clear, very dark chestnut brown with thin beige head.

Aroma:

Malty bitter chocolate with caramel, toasted bread, mocha coffee, burnt raisins and liquorice.

Taste:

Heavy roasted coffee, toasted barley, espresso coffee and cacao with prunes and liquorice.

Aftertaste:

Liquorice lingers in the toasted, barbeque charcoal/coal tar.
