First brewed in Singapore in 1932 as a result of a joint brewing venture between Heineken and a Singapore based conglomerate, now known as Asia Pacific Breweries. Tiger is now brewed in 11 different countries and counting. The recipe includes rice, malted barley and American Zeus hops.
Sampled on 11/08/2012
(best before 31-Jul-13) Clear, golden with two finger white head which quickly fades to little more than a ring of foam.
Subdued, corn biscuit maltiness with light citrus and faint clove.
Light and soft – some might say bland but with little to offend. Delicate malt and even more subtle citrus hops.
There wasn’t much flavour to start with so hardly surprising that Tigar has a short lived sweet white bread crust finish. Easy and thirst quenching but not rewarding.
