Brewed as a collaboration between Welsh brewer Brains and the ‘Real Ale Guide beer reviewer’, Simon Martin. Barry Island is an American-style India pale ale first brewed in early 2012 using three U.S. hops: Summit, Zeus and Cascade.

Appearance:

Clear, bright new pence piece coppery amber with long lasting thin white head and heavy lacing.

Aroma:

Bready and yeasty with citrus fruit, caramel and faint floral notes.

Taste:

Medium bodied with generous fruity malts and citrusy hops.

Aftertaste:

Resinous piney hop finish with lingering gentaine bitterness.
