Brewed as a collaboration between Welsh brewer Brains and the ‘Real Ale Guide beer reviewer’, Simon Martin. Barry Island is an American-style India pale ale first brewed in early 2012 using three U.S. hops: Summit, Zeus and Cascade.
Sampled on 22/05/2013
Clear, bright new pence piece coppery amber with long lasting thin white head and heavy lacing.
Bready and yeasty with citrus fruit, caramel and faint floral notes.
Medium bodied with generous fruity malts and citrusy hops.
Resinous piney hop finish with lingering gentaine bitterness.
