Pauwel Kwak, commonly known as Kwak, is brewed by the family-owned Bosteels Brewery in Belgium and is named after an 18th century innkeeper and brewer, Pauwel Kwak. It's claimed he designed the round-bottomed hour-glass shaped glass in which this beer should be served, held upright by a wooden stand
Sampled on 05/12/2012
(sample best before 05-Sep-14) Clear, rusty amber with a big off white head that dies quickly leaving spotted lacing.
Malty, caramel and yeasty with port-like aromas and faint rolling tobacco.
Caramel influenced yeasty palate with raisin-like fruit, Christmas pudding and powerful alcohol, tannins and wine-like acidity.
