Day’s Root Beer is produced by Day's Beverages Inc. a privately owned Philadelphia based manufacturer of low cost soft drinks. It was established in 1946 by Alfred “Freddy-Day” DiGirolamo and operated for 20 years until his death. The company was resurrected in 1997 by his sons David and Fred Jr.

Legend has it that Freddy Day was caught stealing a case of soda from a delivery truck. Faced with a choice between the police or assisting the delivery driver for the day, he helped the driver and there found his calling.

Appearance:

Clear, deep tawny brown with shade of red (no head).

Aroma:

Bubble-gum, sarsaparilla, clove, liquorice and faint vanilla.

Taste:

Sweet. Vanilla, chocolate, sarsaparilla and black tea with faint minty notes.

Aftertaste:

Sarsaparilla, clove and chocolate.
