As the name suggests Carlsberg 0.0% is completely free of alcohol - not just low in alcohol. It is made with using hops, malt and water with added natural flavouring. Launched June 2015.

Review and Tasting

Appearance:

(sample 31/Mar/16) Clear, golden amber with short-lived white head and very light lacing.

Aroma:

Very subdued with tinned sweetcorn and clean straw.

Taste:

More tinned sweetcorn with very mild hop bitterness. Bland but not offensive.

Aftertaste:

The finish is the best bit – light maltiness and very mild hop bitterness.

Overall:

While this alcohol free lager is never going to stand up, or even come close to a well lagered pilsner in the flavour stakes, Carlsberg 0.0% may be a lifesaver for nominated drivers. It’s a tad bland but it’s more flavoursome than water.
