Appearance:

Clear, golden amber.

Aroma:

Pungent earthy peat, smouldering oak, tobacco leaf and cigarette ash with honey, walnuts and amontillado sherry.

Taste:

Full-bodied and almost chewy. Honeyed sweetness and dried fruit balances earthy peat, dry lightly spiced oak and coal dust.

Aftertaste:

Barbeque charcoal, coal dust, white pepper and smouldering ashes.

Overall:

This independent bottling screams Islay with earthy peat, dry lightly spiced oak and coal dust beautifully offset by honeyed sweetness and rich dried fruitiness.
