Saddle Black is brewed with Maris Otter, Rye, Crystal Rye, Black and Smoked malts along with Pilgrim, Chinook and Cascade hops. Saddle black is a nod to the Purity Brewery’s site being found during a cycle ride.

Appearance:

Clear deep brown, virtually black with thick retentive beige head and heavy lacing.

Aroma:

Charcoal, earthy liquorice, roasted nuts, brown bread, lemon zest and faint smoky bacon crisps.

Taste:

Full-bodied, faintly smoky with nutty and toasty brown bread, piney hops, earthy liquorice, chocolate and coffee.

Aftertaste:

Coffee, smoked almonds, chocolate and liquorice.

Overall:

Dry, lightly spice, toasty and faintly smoky with a full-bodied almost creamy mouthfeel. Earthy liquorice, chocolate and coffee flavours predominate.
