This pepper vodka is flavoured with Jalapeño and Fresno chilli peppers, which were chopped and macerated in neutral spirit for several days before distillation. Separately roasted Jalapeño and bell peppers with a little habanero and dried pasillas were also infused and distilled.

Lance Winters, Hangar One's distiller, loves to experiment and the results are bottled as part of Hangar One's Alchemist Series. This is the second of Lance's pepper vodka experiments and is labelled 'alchemist series No.3 batch 2008-12-01C'.

Aroma:

Innocent nose of barbequed peppers and stewed cabbage fails to prepare you for the fiery chilli palate that follows.

Taste:

This vodka bites back with genuine chilli heat but also sweet vanilla chargrilled notes.

Forget your 'bathtub' flavoured chilli vodka, this is the distilled real deal. Use mixed with grain vodka to spice up your Bloody Mary.
