One of three alcoholic sodas launched in 2017, Crooked Beverage Co sodas feature a malt ferment and are made using “real fruit juice” (4% passion fruit from concentrate) and natural flavours and colourings. This blood orange and passionfruit flavoured soda contains 4.62g sugar/100ml (46.2g/ltr).

Appearance:

(sample can BBE Nov/19) Clear, salmon/rust red with carbonation producing a white head.

Aroma:

Candied passionfruit and red grapefruit zest.

Taste:

Slightly sweet rather than sickly sweet with light partially balancing citric acidity. Passionfruit flavour is reminiscent of sweets/candy rather than fresh fruit – thought not unpleasant, with blood orange more convincing.

Aftertaste:

Slightly soapy tropical fruitiness with citric acidity.

Overall:

Best described as a high class fruity alco-pop, this “alcoholic soda” contains around 4.5% sugar and has zesty bloody orange flavours with candied passionfruit.
