A London dry gin made in the heart of Edinburgh by redistilling neutral grain spirit with botanicals including fresh citrus fruits. The nam refers to the mythological Selkies, a creature that lives as seals in the sea but sheds their skin to become human on land.

Appearance:

Crystal clear.

Aroma:

Piney juniper heavy with pungent zesty citrus and invigorating spice. Adding a splash of water reveals attractive grassiness.

Taste:

Moderately spicy, juniper forward and zesty. Very concentrated in flavour with slightly bitter woody, nutty and rooty notes.

Aftertaste:

Dry, woody and rooty influenced piney juniper finish.

Overall:

Very full-flavoured and bone dry with distinctive woody rooty notes lifted by zesty citrus and invigorating spice. (Very concentrated in flavour to the extent that the producer could have diluted the distillate with more neutral spirit prior to hydration.)
