Not to be confused with “Sloe” Gin, Brookie’s “Slow” Gin is made from an infusion of plums grown on the Brook family’s farm and stands apart as a category of its own. A category, or at least a name, that we believe contravenes European labelling laws surrounding gin. No worries – its’ Australian!

Review and Tasting

Sampled on 23/07/2019

Appearance:

Clear, pale golden salmon pink.

Aroma:

Plum and peach with a touch of melon and cinnamon spice.

Taste:

Slightly sweet but beautifully balanced with fruit tartness and peppery gin spice. Attractive plum and raspberry fruit with piney juniper, bright herbal and floral notes.

Aftertaste:

Piney juniper, berry and plum fruit.

Overall:

Not a gin and not a sloe gin. Perhaps not even a liqueur (might not have enough sugar) but very tasty all the same. This is a beautifully balanced, complex and dangerously sippable plum liqueur/spirit drink combining berry and stone fruit with citrus, juniper and even floral notes.
