Review and Tasting

Sampled on 23/11/2020

Appearance:

Clear, golden amber.

Aroma:

Toasty oak, hazelnut and walnut with vanilla fudge and freshly chopped red pepper.

Taste:

Dry and nutty with salty peppery spice, fresh red pepper and toasty vanilla oak.

Aftertaste:

Spicy, salty nutty oak finish and lingering vanilla and caramel

Overall:

Maturation in Scotch whisky seasoned oak does indeed add to the story and character of this tequila with its distinctive nuttiness. 14 months is a good period in hot days and cool nights of Mexico but is a relatively short period in Scotland where 4 years in cask is the accepted minimum. With this in mind, we look forward to the release of Storywood 48.
