First brewed in 1993, Level Best is the original and flagship beer from the Rother Valley Brewery. A traditional best bitter brewed with a trio of British hops (Admiral, Progress, and Golding) all grown close to the brewery on Hoads Farm in Sandhurst.
Sampled on 11/06/2020
Hazy, deep coppery amber with thick retentive head and good lacing.
Toffee, lemongrass and hay. Faint crystalised ginger.
Medium-bodied. Light toffee maltiness with assertive bitter grassy hops and freshening zesty lemon citrus.
Grassy and citrusy hop bitterness.
Sweet toffee malt is balanced by moderately bitter hops contributing attractive grassy citrus freshness. Enjoyable and sessionable.
