Galliano Sambuca Black is termed a "Liquore alla Sambuca" with its colour due to the original Galliano Sambuca recipe being blended with elderberries, imparting a deep blue almost inky black hue.

Appearance:

Clear (almost opaque), deep navy blue (not black).

Aroma:

Aniseed and liquorice.

Taste:

Aniseed and liquorice with mild back pepper spirituous spice.

Aftertaste:

Back pepper spiced aniseed and liquorice.

Overall:

Some 20% less alcoholic and similarly restrained in flavour than the original "black sambuca" and arguably all the better for it. Certainly more approachable.
