A modern interpretation of a classic Indian Tonic Water with all the key ingredients sourced from Asia. Its makers described this as "the champagne of Tonic Waters".

East Imperial say, "This is an authentic representation of what Tonic Water used to be at the turn of the last century before overly sweet tonics became the norm. Unlike other 'diet' tonics, we only use all-natural ingredients with no artificial colours or preservatives, and it is gluten-free. With only 20 Calories per 100ml (7.5gm of natural cane sugar) our Old World Tonic is the perfect way to enjoy your Gin and Tonic without the guilt of calories."

Review and Tasting

Sampled on 16/01/2023

Appearance:

Crystal clear with effervescence.

Aroma:

Mineral - dust, slate and coal with faint liquorice and lavender.

Taste:

Minerally with notes black tea and faint lavender

Aftertaste:

Dry and minerally.

Overall:

Attractively different to other tonic waters with quinine presented in a more delicate and minerally form that lets gin shine in a G&T.
