Created in 1885 by the Marí Mayans family, Hierbas Ibicencas is based on neutral alcohol flavoured with 18 botanicals including aniseed, juniper berries, thyme, rosemary, mountain mint, lemon and orange peels with other 'secret' ingredients, each individually macerated and then blended together.

The instantly recognisable tall, curved, leaf-shaped bottle is a familiar sight in the bars of Ibiza.

Review and Tasting

Sampled on 03/01/2011

Appearance:

Dark yellow/green.

Aroma:

Very aromatic with obvious aniseed, rosemary and thyme.

Taste:

Surprisingly subtle, balanced palate with fabulous herbal complexity while mint, aniseed, juniper and fennel add pine-like freshness, particularly in the finish.
