A London dry gin, named after and celebrating Wiltshire's iconic and critically endangered bird, the Great Bustard.

Distilled and bottled in Downton, Wiltshire in a single shot small batch distillation producing just 100 bottles per run with 12 botanicals. These include herbaceous plants that grow in the Great Bustard's natural habitat of the Wiltshire Downs and Salisbury Plains and are part of its diet such as wild rocket, alfalfa (lucerne), red clover and yarrow.

A donation from every bottle sold is made to the Great Bustard Organisation, a charity of which King Charles III is the patron.

Review and Tasting

Sampled on 01/08/2024

Appearance:

Crystal clear.

Aroma:

Piney juniper, zesty lemon and orange with lavender with overripe banana, cardamon, rosemary, thyme and black pepper spice.

Taste:

Generously flavoured and juniper-forward with banana notes, enlivened with herbal spice: rosemary, thyme, cardamon and black pepper.

Aftertaste:

Long juniper-led, herbaceous and lightly spiced finish.

Overall:

A generously flavoured contemporary London dry craft gin that celebrates and, thanks to a contribution for every bottle sold, helps support the endangered Great Bustard bird.
