We certainly didn’t set out to celebrate slavery when deciding to add Texan Independence Day to our Cocktail of the Day, which is intended to be a light-hearted excuse to drink cocktails. I have now read a little about the controversy, which I wasn’t aware of before, including the 1836 Declaration of Independence, and have added a paragraph above accordingly.
