I ran out of Simple Syrup as per the original recipe, so I replaced it with Agave Syrup. What came of it was a smoother, thicker Tommy's Margarita...

Taste is similar to the Tommy's Margarita, due to the agave syrup. Egg white adds some body and gives an attractive foam cap. Some Daiquiri bitters (or Margarita bitters) might be interesting in the cocktail and on the foam cap.
