Isle of Colonsay,
The Hebrides, Scotland
The Colonsay Brewery is named after the remote Hebridean island on which it sits, an island with 120 inhabitants that’s some two-and-a-half hours from the Scottish mainland by boat and is probably the smallest island in the world with its own brewery.
This seaside brewery draws its water from Loch Sgoltaire which has a faint peaty character due to running through the peat moss of the surrounding hills..
