Review

Formerly Matt's Hot Dog Shop, this small corner tapas is owned and run by Zach Harjo and his girlfriend Gelsey Hanson who have successfully brought the food and atmosphere they discovered in Madrid whilst backpacking there in 2003.

Ocho is delightfully unpretentious with simply retro décor and built-in banquette giving the appearance that it has been here for decades.

Traditional Spanish dishes such as patatas bravas, garlicky gambas, octopus and chorizo are listed on the multi-coloured chalkboard menu. The cocktails served at Ocho suit its laid back style with drinks such as their noted Ten Dollar Margarita and a trio of Sangrias served on-the-rocks rather than straight-up.
