Review

Prado y Neptuno takes its name and its design cues from 1950s Havana, with a splash of Italy thrown in. It's a small space, much of which is taken up by a pair of candy-colored Vespas and a walk-in humidor for their impressive selection of cigars. It hardly feels like a bar at all: understandable, as a fair portion of Prado y Neptuno's business comes from selling Cuban cigars.

The back bar is small and heavy on the rum, plus the inevitable selection of amari. The drinks menu is similarly brief and uncomplicated—your options for cocktails are "classic," "Cuban,"or "de autor" (original)—but you're in good hands here. It's a quiet neighborhood spot, old-fashioned and laid back, and while you wouldn't want to spend a whole night here, Prado y Neptuno's early open time and inviting outdoor seating makes this the perfect spot for an afternoon aperitivo, maybe accompanied by a nice cigar or a cup of Italian coffee.
