Can be a challenge
This achingly cool bar is housed in two converted shops, whose previous occupants include Scruffy Murphy's and O'Connells. A loungy room where sofas rest among potted palms sits to the right: on the left is a bustling bar area with quirky touches such as ghetto blasters strategically placed about the room and cymbals shading the lights over the bar counter.
The drinks offering also delivers. While seven wines by the glass and a line-up of popular tap lagers will not necessarily entice, this place is really about cocktails, which are brilliantly made. These contemporary concoctions, including a selection of Tiki drinks are based on super-premium spirits yet still priced to appeal to the trendy young crowd, which gives Villager its buzz.
