Formerly a jerk chicken restaurant, it is now a 50-cover cocktail den. Satan's may resemble a grungy east-end watering hole from the outside, but inside, you'll find cocktail heaven. The walls are a homage to elegant vintage drink advertisements with a mix of eccentric taxidermy lit by flickering candles. There's also plenty of esoteric drinking paraphernalia.

The back bar, interspersed by two towering freezers that ensure glassware is at the perfect temperature, plays host to a range of whiskies, from peated Scotch to bourbon and some interesting London-local gins.

The daily updated menu changes three or four drinks, depending on the bartenders-who are name-checked on the menu-and, of course, available ingredients. Cocktails are dominated by classics, plenty of short, sharp hits, and impeccably balanced longer drinks. There's also a good food offering with snacks and sharing plates.
