K Bar

K Bar is named after its owner Kirsten Holm. Her reputation precedes her, as we had heard of her back in London where she was described as an "awesome lady bartender with some great infusions who pioneered the Copenhagen bar scene". When we checked into our hotel on the other side of town, the receptionist also directed us to Kirsten and her bar.

A white hanging 'K' sign betrays the entrance of what is little more than a small room dominated by the bar and just a couple of loungey antechambers for company. The decor is on the modern side with a monochrome colour scheme. Dim lighting, low-slung seating and chilled grooves help the ambiance while your host and her staff will make you feel right at home.

With all the hype that surrounds K, most bars would struggle to live up to such a reputation. Kirsten's cocktails are, however, definitely above average though they do tend toward more modern infusion-led drinks rather than classics. Kirsten also invites guest bartenders from around the world to work sessions at her bar.
